ABOUT US

BWCB was founded in 2008 and now has over 120 members across three wind bands and ensembles. The bands play music from classical to contemporary, jazz to pop, including TV shows and film scores. Each band performs in a number of concerts throughout the year.

When and Where We Rehearse

All the bands rehearse on Wednesday evenings in term-time at:

Holme Grange School,

Heathlands Rd, Wokingham,

RG40 3AL

The Bands

Depending on ability, experience and interest, and in consultation with the Musical Directors, a place in a particular band will be suggested. Band balance and vacancies will be taken into account. New players should play with a band for half a term as a trial period, after which they may review their position with the Musical Director.

Beaufort Band

For members with less band experience or who are more experienced ensemble musicians but just starting out with a new band instrument

Second Wind

For members who are of an intermediate to advanced level of playing with competent sight-reading and technical skills. Previous band or group experience is preferable but not essential

Concert Band

For members who are experienced band, orchestral or ensemble players, probably at or beyond Grade 6

Membership of BWCB is TBC for September 2024. Plus an additional termly fee per band:
