We really pulled off a brilliant performance, many smiling people in the audience, so a success all round! Here are a few other comments from the band members:

'All my family said it was great, and I do mean all my family. They all
thoroughly enjoyed it:- from my son aged 12 upto and including my Grandma, aged
92! My dad, who also went to the Barnfield, found it even more enjoyable as
there seemed to be a greater variety of music, esp with the brass group'

' a cracking performance last night'

'In the words of my Texan friend – “Absolutely Awesome” performance tonight
Really well done to everyone – thoroughly enjoyed your playing!
I was sitting there wishing I could be up there with you all, but have to say the Wall of Sound just gets better and better!
The change of pace and sound with the ‘Brass’ ensemble works really well and adds to the depth of a concert!
    Happy Anniversary !!'

Another successful outing for the Breakaway Brass Band. The programme included festive tunes and the world première of a Brass Band arrangement of Night Boat to Cairo. The audience had the special treat of a Tuba solo amongst the other excellent solos played which warmed the atmosphere and got their feet tapping!

  • Winter Warm Up 2009

Another jolly time was had by all. It was nice to play live again after the tour! The unusual lay out of the band meant that several sections heard parts of the music they had never heard before and different sections got exposed to the brass!!!! It was a pleasure to be conducted by our new assistant conductor Di Adams, although sightings of her were somewhat intermittent from the back, due to the saxophone section closing ranks when the rain started! It looked like the audience enjoyed our entertainment as they shopped, and we were very grateful to the refreshments provided by Waitrose afterwards.
